US National Security Advisor Acknowledges Delays in Aid Deliveries to Ukraine

Jake Sullivan, the US National Security Advisor, openly stated that the delivery of aid to Ukraine is delayed due to logistical problems, not a lack of political will. He revealed this during a virtual conference of the Yalta European Strategy.

"This is not a matter of political will. It's a matter of overcoming complex and difficult logistics," Sullivan said.

He also stated that the United States acknowledges the seriousness of the situation in Ukraine and intends to strengthen its support. A new aid package is expected to be announced soon, which should arrive by the end of the month.

Ukraine and the US to Discuss Use of Western Weapons

Additionally, attention was given to the use of long-range Western weapons against targets in Russia's rear. This will be one of the central issues at the meeting between Presidents Biden and Zelensky in New York, where the Ukrainian leader will attend a session of the UN General Assembly.

Jake Sullivan enthusiastically noted that the American side looks forward to discussing the victory plan in the war with Russia, which Zelensky plans to present. On his part, President Biden intends to use the remaining months of his presidency to achieve the best position for Ukraine's victory. Earlier, it was reported that the US found a way to maintain financial aid for Ukraine amounting to $5.8 billion.

Concerns Over Possible Russian Strikes on Nuclear Power Plants

Jake Sullivan also expressed concern about possible Russian strikes on Ukrainian nuclear power plants. He emphasized that Russia has already attacked Ukrainian nuclear power plants in the past and this could happen again.

Earlier, Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko warned that further Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy system could lead to an emergency at one of the operating nuclear power plants.
