The Rise in Meat Prices Will Continue: Forecast Until Summer 2025.

Meat prices in Ukraine rose before Easter. In particular, pork prices increased by 5.5%. In supermarkets, prices are even higher; for example, pork neck has risen in price by almost 42 hryvnias. However, prices remain lower at markets. Beef has also become more expensive - prices for it have increased by 6.3%. The price difference in various stores is significant. Experts associate the price increase with rising demand, inflationary processes, and a decrease in the number of animals in Ukraine. Further price increases for meat are expected until June 2025, but more slowly than for other products, due to reduced purchasing power of the population. Ukrainians spend more money on food than Europeans. Meat prices in Ukraine also vary depending on retail and wholesale prices.
Analysis:
Meat prices in Ukraine continue to rise, especially before Easter. Increased demand for pork and beef is leading to their higher cost. However, prices remain lower at markets compared to supermarkets. Experts predict further price increases for meat in Ukraine, but more slowly than in other product categories. The cost of meat is one of the factors affecting the lives of Ukrainians, as they spend a greater percentage of their income on food compared to Europeans. It is also worth noting the significant difference between wholesale and retail prices for meat, which indicates the existence of a gap in the market. It is important to consider this fact when planning meat purchases and choosing more profitable options.
