There will be no heating season: authorities urge residents of Pokrovsk to leave the city.

The head of Pokrovsk city military administration, Serhiy Dobriak, urged city residents to move to safe places and warned that there will be no heating season in the city while the Russians attempt to capture it. This was reported by the Pokrovsk city military administration.
If you see that fortification work is already happening on your streets, please do not delay, take your belongings and leave, because it will be dangerous, Dobriak addressed the citizens.
The administration noted that the concrete pyramids in the residential area are, unfortunately, the reality of Pokrovsk. The enemy is gradually destroying the city - just as it did with Bakhmut and Avdiivka.
As promised, rescuers, police officers, social service workers, and utility workers remain on site until the end. But it is already certain that there will be no heating season in the city, the Pokrovsk CMA stated.
Strike zone
According to the deputy head of Pokrovsk city military administration, Oleksii Stebli, today the city and community are increasingly found in the strike zone of FPV drones, as well as artillery and rockets. Therefore, utility services cannot reach all parts of the community and carry out the necessary amount of work.
Let us recall, Russian troops are advancing towards Pokrovsk. Their goal is likely to capture the mine where a particular type of coal, coking coal, is extracted. Russian troops are eager to seize the mine due to its crucial significance for the Ukrainian metallurgical industry. It is located about 10 km west of the city's center and specializes in extracting a special type of coal needed for coke production.
The loss of the mine could lead to a reduction in steel production
The head of the Ukrainian Metallurgists Association, Oleksandr Kalenkov, mentioned in an interview with Reuters that the loss of the Pokrovsk mine could cause a significant reduction in steel production.
