End of deferment for students: who will have to go to the conscription office at 25.

The government of Ukraine has submitted a new draft law to the Verkhovna Rada, which limits the use of education as a means to evade mobilization. The changes prohibit deferment from conscription for men who started their studies in vocational educational institutions after reaching the age of 25. The document states that this decision is related to the significant increase in military conscripts among students.
The draft law clearly defines the categories of individuals who will not be subject to conscription: pupils of vocational and specialized educational institutions who began their studies before the age of 25, students of higher educational institutions on the calculated term and doctoral students, medical interns, and medical residents. However, it is important to note that deferment will only apply to individuals who are receiving higher education for the first Time at a level higher than their previous one.
The draft law aims to protect the interests of Ukraine and to prevent the use of education as a way to evade mobilization. It is expected that it will be adopted to amend legislation and close loopholes.
