Cabbage in Ukraine has sharply decreased in price: experts warned what will happen next.

Ukraine is observing a trend of declining prices for white cabbage. This is reported by analysts of the EastFruit project. Experts explain this price dynamic by excessive market supply, especially from mid-late cabbage varieties that can be stored for a long Time.
According to manufacturers, the prices for white cabbage fluctuate between 15-23 UAH/kg ($0.36-0.56/kg), which is 16% lower compared to last week. This price difference is explained by the differing quality of products.
Analysts of the project note that most farms are actively harvesting, which leads to an increase in supply. However, demand remains low, so wholesale companies and retail networks purchase only small batches due to the limited shelf life of low-quality products.
Despite the decline in prices, current prices for white cabbage in Ukraine are still 2.9 times higher than last year. Experts predict a further decrease in prices due to increased harvesting activity thanks to better weather conditions. If sales volumes do not change, farmers will be forced to continue lowering prices due to the increase in market supply.
It is also worth mentioning that the prices for grains in Ukraine have changed: buckwheat, rice, semolina, and millet.
