The Armed Forces of Ukraine plan to use American anti-personnel mines provided by the USA as part of defense assistance only on the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Sabrina Singh.
According to her, the Ukrainian side assured that this weapon will only be used in Ukraine. Singh did not provide details on the use of the mines.
She also noted that the provision of anti-personnel mines is a response by the USA to the changes in the fight against the armed conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. The changes involve Russia changing its tactics and not using its mechanized forces, Singh stated.
