"No preparations": Popenko criticized the Soviet-style PR of officials on the heating season.

The head of the Union of Public Utilities Consumers criticizes the start of the heating season
The head of the Union of Public Utilities Consumers, Oleh Popenko, expressed his dissatisfaction with the start of the heating season in Ukraine. He believes that the deep communist past has not yet left us. In recent days, headlines about the start of the heating season in various cities, such as Kyiv and Vinnytsia, have been spreading in the media. This is done with such pompous pathos as if this victory was achieved by the local officials themselves, rather than the workers of public utilities who receive a meager salary.
“You read the news and are amazed by what is happening, realizing our deep communist past that still exists. For two days in a row, the news has been filled with headlines about how in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, and so on, heating started being supplied to houses, all with great fanfare, as if it was local officials who achieved this victory, not the ordinary workers of public utilities with a salary of 13,000 hryvnias,” the expert wrote.
Popenko believes that this situation is inadequate as it has long been clear that nobody is doing anything or doing very little to prepare for the heating season. There are no measures to strengthen the heating lines. Nevertheless, local and central authorities continue to report their "achievements" to their voters.
“It has long been clear that nobody does anything or does very little to prepare for the heating season. Virtually everything is based on promises. There are no reinforcing mechanisms on the heating lines. But local and central authorities with great enthusiasm report about their five-year plans, which they achieved in 4 years, or how they cared for the Olympic bear and pioneers. Just empty promises. Mayors (premiers, etc.) say, always ready, told the batteries in the multi-story buildings,” added the expert.
Recall, Haluzenko told about the gas reserves for the heating season.
