Ukrainian Athletics Star Tested Positive for Doping.


Ukrainian athlete Maryna Bech-Romanchuk has been suspended from competition following a positive result from a doping test. This information was disclosed on the website athleticsintegrity.org.
The decision to disqualify the athlete was made yesterday, May 14, but the term of the imposed disqualification has not been specified.
Suspilne Sport reports that the sanctions against Bech-Romanchuk are related to the detection of a banned substance - testosterone - in her body during the doping test. This violates rules 2.1 and 2.2.
Initially, Maryna Bech-Romanchuk was invited to participate in the Diamond League stage in Doha, but her name was removed from the list of participants before the competition began.
Achievements of Maryna Bech-Romanchuk
Maryna Bech-Romanchuk, a 29-year-old Ukrainian track and field athlete, is known for her success in long jump and triple jump.
She became the European champion in 2022 in triple jump and the winner of the continental indoor championship in 2021 in long jump.
In 2019, she earned a silver medal at the World Championships in long jump.
In the 2023 season, Maryna for the first Time in her career became the world vice-champion in triple jump, as well as won gold at the European Games in Poland in this sport.
She is also a two-time medalist in the Diamond League finals: in 2021 she won bronze in long jump, and in 2022 - bronze in triple jump.
