The West Points Out the Main Mistake in Understanding Putin.

President Putin has little reason to end the war in Ukraine. Russian troops continue to advance on the front, Russia's economy has not collapsed, and internal repression stifles any pressure on the Kremlin to stop the aggression.
Former Finnish President Sauli Niinistö points out that Putin's 'systemic' thinking contrasts with Donald Trump's desire for 'quick' solutions. This, in his opinion, makes any agreement between them impossible.
Probably, Putin will continue to strengthen Russia's military positions and undermine the political will of Ukraine and the West.
Former Russian diplomat Boris Bondarev suggests that Putin is waiting for Trump to get 'bored' with the Ukrainian issue.
Lori Bristow, former British Ambassador to Russia, believes that even the initiation of negotiations with Russia does not guarantee a real compromise, as their strategy, according to him, is to consider their own as their own, and someone else's as a subject of bargaining.
Bondarev agrees with this, stating that for Putin, negotiations are a way to get what he wants without a fight. He wonders why the West still does not understand this Kremlin tactic.
A meeting with Trump, in his opinion, would raise Russia's status as a global power, but the Kremlin is unlikely to make real concessions.
Earlier, the British minister revealed Putin's plans regarding the war in Ukraine.
