From Onions to Oranges: Which Products Surprised Ukrainians with New Prices.


Price Changes for Vegetables and Fruits in the Ukrainian Market
The analytical platform EastFruit reports interesting price changes in the vegetable and fruit market in Ukraine this week.
In particular, wholesale prices for onions have decreased to 10 hryvnias per kilogram, which is 3 hryvnias less than last week. A similar situation is observed with the price of potatoes, which has decreased from 22 to 20 hryvnias.
Cucumbers have also become cheaper over the first one and a half months. Their price has decreased from 100-125 hryvnias per kilogram to 90-110 hryvnias per kilogram. The price of pumpkins has also decreased from 17-25 to 10-15 hryvnias per kilogram.
There is a noted decrease in prices for dill (from 120-170 to 100-150 hryvnias per kilogram) and salad (from 50-110 to 40-80 hryvnias per kilogram).
However, some products have become more expensive. The price of Chinese cabbage increased from 30-35 to 38-40 hryvnias per kilogram. In the fruit segment, the price of apples has increased from 20-30 to 20-35 hryvnias per kilogram, and pears from 55-85 to 75-85 hryvnias per kilogram.
A joyful note can be mentioned about citrus fruits. The prices for oranges have decreased from 75-80 to 50-75 hryvnias per kilogram, and for lemons from 60-75 to 53-60 hryvnias per kilogram.
It is worth noting that Ukraine is facing problems with the storage of vegetable and fruit harvests, which is one of the worst indicators in Europe.
