In Ukraine, meat prices have surged: how the cost of pork and lard has changed before the holidays.


Pork and lard prices rose in December in Ukraine. According to the Minfin portal, pork belly costs 183.10 UAH/kg, which is more expensive than last month - 177.27 UAH/kg. Prices for necks have also increased - from 277.98 UAH/kg to 281.95 UAH/kg. Pork belly costs 179.00 UAH/kg, while ribs have become cheaper - 176.30 UAH/kg. The price for shashlik remained unchanged - 262.41 UAH/kg. As for lard, its price increased from 232.79 UAH/kg to 234.00 UAH/kg. The most expensive lard is sold in the 'Novus' store - for 279.00 UAH/kg, while the lowest price is 189.00 UAH/kg in the 'MegaMarket' store. Salted lard has decreased in price from 246.05 UAH/kg to 242.80 UAH/kg.
Usually, the approach of the New Year and Christmas fills the hearts of Ukrainians with joy and warmth, and many people carefully prepare for the holidays, including preparing the festive table. After all, lard and meat delicacies are an integral part of Ukrainian tradition. These products can be purchased in advance and frozen.
