The UN believes that the war in Gaza started due to weak diplomacy - media.

According to a report by The New York Times, UN envoy Tor Wennesland claims that world leaders focused on short-term solutions instead of actively promoting the establishment of a Palestinian state. He also notes that in the six months leading up to the conflict in Gaza, much attention was given to improving the economic situation in the region, hoping that it would prevent new clashes. Additionally, there was a focus on diplomatic agreements between Israel and Arab states, believing that this would contribute to resolving the Palestinian conflict.
'The policy has failed. Diplomacy has failed. The international community has failed. And the parties have failed,' Wennesland stated.
According to him, the inability to achieve a permanent resolution to the conflict is also explained by the resistance of FATAH, the political party of the Palestinian Authority, against HAMAS, which hindered the formation of a unified front among Palestinians.
