Yuriy Rybchynskyi – 80! His son told how he was raised by a star father.

Yevhen Rybchynskyi talked about his childhood alongside his legendary father
The famous Ukrainian poet-singer, People's Artist of Ukraine Yuriy Rybchynskyi turned 80 on May 22. His son, also a well-known artist Yevhen Rybchynskyi, in an interview with the publication 'Hlavkom' shared memories from childhood and the special upbringing alongside his famous father.
“My childhood world was diverse: on the street - fights and quarrels, at home - music, poetry, and some cheerful people known by almost everyone around. It was a huge dissonance,” recalls Yevhen.
The artist's son emphasized that he did not receive any special privileges due to his father's 'stardom'. They often spent Time together playing various games and competitions. The Rybchynskyi home frequently welcomed outstanding guests from the Ukrainian and Soviet show business and culture.
“Most notably, according to Yevhen, he remembered the constant competition with his father: for his mother's attention, for the attention of those around, in sports, in creativity, in the field of knowledge,” said the poet-singer's son.
Yevhen also mentioned that Yuriy Rybchynskyi did not hold any titles or awards for a long time and was never a party member, yet his talent was recognized by all.
After the interview, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the poet-singer the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 4th degree on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
