The Migration Service of Ukraine claims that starting from 2025, the population will need to replace passports in case of any changes to their data, obtaining a new taxpayer identification number, or discovering errors in the document.
Who needs to exchange passports
In 2025, Ukrainians will have to change their passports if their data has changed, if an individual has received a new registration number of the taxpayer's account card, or if errors or damage are found in the document itself.
It is not mandatory to change the passport after its expiration date or in case of incorrect data. Citizens can apply for a new passport from the old sample from 1994.
It is advisable for Ukrainians to conduct the passport exchange before 2025 upon changing information, discovering errors, or damages in the documents. It is also important to seek assistance from government institutions for passport replacement in necessary cases.
