Mass Arrests of Ukrainians in Poland: What Happened

In Poland, the activities of a Ukrainian criminal group involved in the kidnapping of migrants and ransom demands have been uncovered. This story began in the city of Lubin, when two Africans from Ethiopia, having escaped from their kidnappers, ran naked through the streets, attracting the attention of local residents.

CBŚP police officers from Gorzów Wielkopolski discovered an international criminal network that operated both in Poland and Latvia. 'After a coordinated operation, four individuals suspected of kidnappings, ransom demands, and human trafficking were detained,' said Krzysztof Wrzesińowski, spokesman for the Central Investigation Bureau of Police.

All gang members are Ukrainians who had been living in Poland for several years.

According to the investigation, the Ukrainian smuggling group transported migrants to Western European countries for money. However, instead of transporting the victims to their destination, they decided to profit even more by kidnapping those they were transporting and demanding a ransom from their relatives.

The Ukrainian criminals showed a lack of understanding of the fundamental principle of true hospitality - a secret detachment followed by forced demands for monetary rewards under changing conditions. Their criminal activities were revealed thanks to the successful escape of the migrants and the operational work of law enforcement, which allowed this horrific criminal syndicate to be halted.
