Fakes about the accident at the South Ukrainian NPP - manipulation to discredit nuclear energy - said the minister
Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko stated that these fakes about the accident at the South Ukrainian NPP aim to discredit nuclear energy, which is the main source of electricity in Ukraine.
The event that happened at the South Ukrainian NPP, which was initially called an accident by Russian sources and then by some of our experts, is recorded as zero on a scale from 1 to 7, meaning it does not fall under the definition. This is manipulation. And it is done to discredit nuclear energy. Because today, thanks to it, we have been living for 11 days without blackouts.
Galushchenko noted that the information about the burning of power transformers at the NPP is false, because, according to experts, if this had happened, the NPP would not have been able to supply electricity.
I believe this situation was given a political coloring. Why? Competent authorities will deal with it. Because many such operational events happen at energy facilities. It is equipment; it breaks down. But we do not name the place where it happens so as not to highlight the object. Because then we give the Russians a message that we have some weak spot where it is worth striking - summed up the minister.
In July, information appeared about worsening electricity supply at the South Ukrainian NPP due to the burning of transformers. However, this information was recognized as fake.
