Trump extended the ban for Russian vessels to enter US ports for another year.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has extended the ban on Russian-affiliated vessels entering American ports for another year. This applies to ships flying the Russian flag. The relevant document was published in the Federal Register of the United States.
According to the decree signed on April 15, 2025, the policies and actions of the Russian government continue to be perceived as a threat to the national security of the United States. This is the reason for the continuation of restrictive measures.
It is worth noting that the initial state of emergency regarding Russia and the introduction of the port ban was enacted on April 21, 2022, under the government of former US President Joe Biden.
Donald Trump has also previously extended other sanctions that were imposed by Joe Biden against Russia in 2021.
