Sukharevsky confirmed the use of laser weapons.

According to Vadim Sukharevsky, the commander of the UAV Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukraine possesses laser technologies that can already attack objects at a certain height. This has become possible due to the continuous development of the UAV Forces, which is one of the main tasks of the military structure.
«R&D – innovative activities of the command include several areas. One of them, in the context of fighting enemy aircraft, with their unmanned aerial systems, including – seeking solutions in the fight against 'Shaheds', has led us to teams that are actively engaged in this. And so, I repeat – laser technologies are already affecting certain objects at a certain height», – Sukharevsky said.
It is worth reminding that Ukraine has its own laser weapon - 'Trident'. Military personnel are currently working on its expansion and enhancement.
Recently, decisions regarding arms supplies to Ukraine have slowed down due to internal debates about the risks of escalating relations with Russia. Delays in the supply of American weapons to Ukraine have been most noticeable in the last year of Joe Biden's presidential term, when Congress stalled the approval of $60 billion in support for U.S. allies. However, this is also related to issues concerning the availability of sufficient weapon stockpiles in the U.S.
Furthermore, Ukraine is actively working on developing its own air defense system and modern missile system, which serve as a deterrent against 'Oreshnik'.
