How many Ukrainian defenders have been executed by occupiers on the front: statistics.

Ukrainian soldiers became victims of Russian soldiers. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, 93 Ukrainian military personnel were executed, with the majority of cases occurring in 2024. Yuri Bielousov, Head of the Department for Combating Crimes Committed in Conditions of Armed Conflict, reported this during the telethon.

Bielousov also commented on the information about another execution of a Ukrainian serviceman but cannot confirm it yet.

«We immediately registered another case with the Main Investigation Department of the SBU. And currently, we already have information on the death of 93 of our soldiers who were executed exactly on the battlefield. And what is important to note is that about 80% of all executions occurred this year. This speaks of a significant increase in these cases in 2024», – said Bielousov.

According to the representative of the Prosecutor General's Office, since November 2023, there has been a noticeable deterioration in the treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian military forces.

«Probably the most high-profile example is our prisoners of war who died in Olenivka. But such cases are recorded in other detention places as well», – noted Bielousov.

The report released by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights confirmed the execution of 10 prisoners of war in other places of detention.

«We also document this. We have large cases concerning places of detention in the territory of the Russian Federation, in occupied territory. We interrogate all our prisoners of war who return. All of them become victims of such brutal torture. And unfortunately, during these tortures, some of our fighters die at the hands of either the Russian armed forces or FSB representatives or zealous workers», – Bielousov said.

It is noted that the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission highlighted in its report the violations of the Geneva Conventions by the Russians in the Ukraine case. It was emphasized that the executions of Ukrainian military personnel are a serious violation of International Humanitarian Law (IHL).

Law enforcement has launched an investigation into the information circulated on social media about the execution of Ukrainian servicemen by Russian occupiers on the Pokrovsky direction.
