Development of the National Defense Industry: The Ministry of Defense Implements a Long-Term Contract System with Weapon Manufacturers.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine met with domestic weapon manufacturers.
According to the agency, the main topic was the discussion of the possibilities of signing three-year contracts that will ensure production stability, the development of the defense sector, and the enhancement of the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
'Together with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we identified a number of priority samples of Ukrainian weapons and military equipment. This is the weapon that is critically important for the Ukrainian army to gain an advantage on the battlefield. The signing of long-term contracts with its manufacturers is aimed at ensuring the reliability of supplies of this necessary weapon,' said the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.
The Ministry of Defense confirmed its position regarding the priority support of domestic manufacturers in providing the army with the necessary weapons and equipment.
'Long-term contracts enable manufacturers to plan their work, attract investments, and develop technologies. The procurement agency of the Ministry of Defense has already signed contracts worth 208 billion UAH with Ukrainian manufacturers. In particular, with this funding, the Armed Forces of Ukraine receive artillery systems, ammunition, anti-tank missile systems, mortars, shells for them, armored combat vehicles, trucks, electronic warfare equipment, heavy bomber drones, and more,' emphasized the Director of the Procurement Policy Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Hlib Kanyevskyi.
The Ministry of Defense has already prepared a list of weapons based on the needs and priorities identified by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Necessary criteria have been taken into account, including that the manufacturer must undergo the codification procedure, carry out serial production, and ensure a localization level of no less than 50%.
