The Director of the State Employment Service, Yuliya Zhovtyak, stated that the service is doing everything possible to support veterans in their transition to civilian life. She expressed this during a meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on social policy and veterans' rights.
A Concept for the implementation of veteran policy in the employment service is currently being developed, which aims to facilitate the full integration of veterans into society and the economy of the country.
'The return of veterans to civilian life should be a supported process, not a trial. Our goal is to provide them with support at all stages,'emphasized Yuliya Zhovtyak.
Four areas of support for veterans
The State Employment Service develops four main areas for the successful adaptation of veterans:
- Financial support: more than two thousand veterans received grants for business development, and over three thousand new jobs are planned to be created.
- Education and retraining: over a thousand veterans have obtained education through vouchers, and five thousand have received professional training.
- Employment assistance: every fourth veteran has already found a job. Compensation programs for employers and equipping workplaces for veterans with disabilities are in place.
- Information support: the service has over 400 structural units and 88 'Made in Ukraine' offices that provide a full range of services from consultations to post-grant support.
The State Employment Service is actively working to support veterans in their transition to civilian life, providing not only financial support but also assisting in training, employment, and providing information support.
