In Chernivtsi during the shelling, Russian occupiers attacked the city, but doctors saved a seriously ill child who suddenly stopped breathing. Philanthropist and founder of the medical center 'House of Butterflies' Marta Levchenko reported that during the shelling, the staff could not hide in a shelter because the resuscitation of the child named Zlata was underway.

'Zlata stopped breathing exactly during the strikes, so the doctors, at the cost of their own lives, could not be in the shelter, resuscitation was ongoing,' the message from Levchenko states.

In this way, the doctors saved the child by providing access to vital medical care. All other children from the 'House of Butterflies' team were in a shelter that was prepared for overnight stays in case of danger. It is noted that many children who experienced past traumas still have post-traumatic stress and fear sleeping near windows due to the fear of shelling. To improve the working conditions and rehabilitation of the hospice, Levchenko calls on philanthropists to help install metal shutters on the windows of the resuscitation unit.

As a result of the shelling overnight on Saturday, July 12, two people died in Chernivtsi, and Lviv also became a target of attack by Russian invaders.
