Burning depots and destroyed hangars: Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted the strongest attack on Russian airbases throughout the war.

Ukrainian drones struck several Russian military airfields, including the Borisoglebsk airfield in the Voronezh region. This was reported by Radio Liberty, citing satellite images from Planet Labs dated August 14, 2024.
At the Borisoglebsk airfield, several hangars in the northwest part of the airfield were damaged. This section houses the technical and operational part responsible for the repair and maintenance of aircraft. This airfield is home to Su-25, Su-30, Su-34, and Su-35 aircraft of the Russian Air Force, aviation expert Anatoly Khrapchinsky reported.
Representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) confirmed that this is the largest attack on Russian military airfields since the start of the war. In addition to the Borisoglebsk airfield, strikes were carried out on airfields in Voronezh, Kursk, and Savasleyka.
At the Savasleyka airfield, located 650 km from the Ukrainian border, there was a chance that special fuel for the MiG-31K could be damaged. According to NASA's satellite service, a large fire was recorded in the fuel storage area.
Savasleyka may have housed special T-6 fuel for high-altitude supersonic flights, which is used only for the MiG-31K. It should be noted that this fuel is not produced at all oil refineries. Experts assert that damage to fuel stocks and the airfield's fuel infrastructure could significantly impact the ability to base MiG-31Ks. This creates difficulties for the opponent, despite the possibility of moving aircraft to another airfield.
