Named the most profitable and unprofitable industries for the first half of the year.


Ukrainians were told the most profitable and most unprofitable industries in 2024.
As "Hvylya" reports, this was reported by the State Statistics Service.
Thus, the largest income increase was observed in the agricultural sector, including agriculture, fishing, and forestry. At the same Time, the entertainment industry showed the maximum decline in profitability.
Compared to the same period last year, the first six months of the current year showed the most impressive growth in profit before tax in the following industries:
- agriculture, fishing, and forestry - an increase of 502%
- education – an increase of 498%
- professional, scientific, and technical activities - an increase of 369%
- construction – an increase of 103%.
According to statistical data, some sectors of the economy experienced a significant increase in losses. This was most noticeable in the following areas:
- Arts, sports, entertainment, and recreation - 951%
- Accommodation and food service industries - 179%
- Information and telecommunications sector – 89%.
At the same time, the overall picture for large and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine looks more optimistic. Thus, the profit of Ukrainian large and medium-sized enterprises increased by 49.7% in the first half of 2024 compared to January-June of last year to 619.6 billion hryvnias.
However, the losses of enterprises increased by 10.6% year-on-year to 128.4 billion hryvnias for the reporting period.
Meanwhile, the financial result before taxation of large and medium-sized enterprises was positive and amounted to 491.2 billion hryvnias (in January-June 2023 also positive - 298 billion hryvnias).
The share of unprofitable enterprises for January-June 2024 was 25.7% (for January-June 2023 – 25.5%).
