The National Bank has issued a commemorative coin in the shape of a Ukrainian Easter egg.

The National Bank of Ukraine has presented a new commemorative coin 'Easter Joy. Easter Egg', which is shaped like a Ukrainian Easter egg. This news has been discontinued from being displayed on the 'Glavcom' website, citing the press service of the NBU.
According to the NBU’s announcement, the Ukrainian Easter egg has a unique ornament and deep meaning that is passed down from generation to generation. In 2024, the Easter egg was included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
The commemorative coin 'Easter Joy. Easter Egg' is made of 999 silver, weighing 31.1 grams. The coin is decorated with enamel and gold plating. The nominal value of the coin is 10 hryvnias. The total number of coins issued is up to 15,000 pieces.
The reverse side of the coin features a traditional Easter egg from the Odesa region, known as 'Sorokoput' or 'Cossack meadows'. The Easter egg is adorned with intricate ornaments with deep meanings.
On the front side of the coin, the center of the composition features a stylized tree of life in the shape of an oak, embellished with 12 Easter eggs depicting symbols of our ancestors.
The coin will be available for purchase in the NBU's online numismatic product store, as well as at distributing banks, the list of which is posted on the official NBU website.
We remind you that the National Bank of Ukraine decided to keep the key interest rate at 15.5% starting from April 18, 2025. This decision will contribute to stability in the currency market, maintaining control over inflation expectations, and gradually reducing inflation to the planned 5%.
