GPS signal issues have been detected in the Baltic Sea and northern Poland. This has led to difficulties in navigation for ship crews and fishermen. The navigation computers on vessels have become unusable, forcing fishermen to revert to using compasses and traditional navigation methods. This problem is not new, as the first reports of disruptions in the GPS signal emerged a year ago.
Finland had previously reported incorrect course issues for ships at sea due to these problems. It is also worth noting that NATO has taken measures to strengthen its presence in the Baltic Sea following damage to underwater cables connecting Estonia and Finland.
