Reform of the Social Security System

The Ministry of Social Policy has presented large-scale changes to the social security system. The changes will maintain all disability groups and provide enhanced support for veterans.

The Ministry of Social Policy continues to work on the draft law for reforming the social security system. They are actively collaborating with experts, the public, and members of parliament to incorporate constructive proposals.

Preservation of Disability Groups

The reform envisions maintaining the existing disability system. All disability groups will remain unchanged, and payments are guaranteed for the entire period of disability. Persons with a permanent disability will be ensured long-term payment retention without the need for reassessment.

Increase in Social Guarantees

The draft law provides for a significant increase in social guarantees. The maximum amount of monthly insurance payment for accidents at work will rise to 40,000 hryvnias. The term for sick leave payment will be extended to 14 months, and for people with partial working capacity, the three-month limit on unemployment benefits will be lifted.

Support for Veterans

Special attention is paid to supporting veterans. Servicemen released due to injury will receive sick leave at 100% of their salary for the entire treatment period. After the end of treatment, an automatic assessment of employment limitations and the appointment of new financial aid will be provided without interruption in payments.

In the case of a complete loss of working capacity, veterans will receive a monthly payment at 100% of their salary. In the case of partial loss of working capacity, the state will compensate for the difference between previous and current income. When seeking work through the Employment Service, veterans are guaranteed a payment of no less than 50% of their salary.
