The Guinness World Records has named the new oldest man in the world: he is 112 years old.

It is with great sadness that we report that following the death of John Tinniswood from the United Kingdom, Brazilian man Joao Marinho Neto has become the oldest man in the world. As of November 28, he has reached the age of 112 years and 54 days. This news has been confirmed by the Guinness World Records.
Joao Marinho Neto was born on October 5, 1912, in Brazil. He is the last man on Earth born in 1912.
From childhood, Joao helped his family with farming, taking care of livestock and harvesting crops. He continued to work in agriculture, growing corn, beans, and raising animals on the land he inherited.
Joao Marinho Neto has six children, 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He named having good people around him as one of the secrets to his longevity.
Prior to this, John Tinniswood was the oldest man in the world. He was born in 1912 and passed away at the age of 111. He claimed that his longevity was not complicated by diet, although his favorite dish was fish and chips. He did not smoke and drank rarely.
John Tinniswood passed away on November 25, 2024, in a nursing home in Southport. He moved there shortly before his 100th birthday. Now the title of the oldest man in the world belongs to Joao Marinho Neto.
The Guinness record belonged to Venezuelan Juan Vicente Pérez Mora, who died at the age of 100. Additional information about him is currently unavailable.
