China categorically rejects accusations of failing to fulfill agreements with the US and accuses the American side of violating the terms of the agreement. This signifies an escalation in the trade negotiations between the two countries. After the meeting of US and Chinese finance ministers in Geneva, a decision was made to suspend most customs duties between the countries for three months. However, the Trump administration tightened control over the export of software for semiconductor development and chemicals to China, and also canceled visa types for Chinese students, which provoked a negative reaction from Beijing. These actions could seriously undermine the agreement reached in Geneva, emphasized a representative of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, promising to protect China's interests in case of further violations by the US. The relationship between the countries is tense, and China continues to take measures against the illegal extraction of rare earth metals.
