Ice skating on a frozen river nearly ended in tragedy.

In Vinnytsia, a dangerous situation occurred on the frozen Southern Bug River - one of the men skating fell through the icy water. Fortunately, there was a person present who witnessed the incident and managed to save the victim.
One of the witnesses saw how the 'figure skater' accidentally fell into the water and pulled him to the surface.
According to information, a 24-year-old man came to the skating rink, but the ice turned out to be too weak, and he fell through. Soon, a man standing near the shore of the Southern Bug River came to his aid. Before the rescuers from the State Emergency Service arrived at the scene, the person who saved him helped the passerby get out of the water on his own.
Professional rescuers remind everyone that a minor check of the ice thickness can cost lives, so it is important to be cautious on the ice. They again urge citizens to choose specially equipped places for skiing and skating during winter recreation.
Furthermore, on the Dnieper River, several fishermen were in danger when a piece of ice broke off from the shore. Thanks to the quick response of the rescuers, the fishermen were brought to the shore directly from the water surface.
A dog rescued from under the ice in Kyiv
At the Dog Bay in the Obolon district of Kyiv, rescuers performed a rescue of a dog that had fallen through the ice.
According to the rescuers, the dog noticed a swan and instantly dashed after it. However, the ice could not withstand the load, and the animal found itself in cold water. It had no way to get back to the surface on its own.
