Canadians are hastily selling real estate and fleeing the US.

Over the past two months, Canadians have been actively selling their homes in the US and rushing to leave the country. This has led to a bottleneck for real estate agencies overwhelmed with inquiries from migrants. This situation arose due to the dissatisfaction of many people with President Donald Trump's policies. In particular, since 2024, Canadian buyers have been purchasing less real estate in the US, leading to a drop in property prices. Furthermore, utility bills in Florida condominiums have significantly increased, which has become another financial factor for Canadians' departure. According to broker Alexandra Dupont, she has never had so many Canadian clients before. The main motive behind Canadians returning home is dissatisfaction with Trump's policies. This information is also corroborated by the Canadian government's call for citizens to expect checks upon entering the US.
Additionally, there has been a decrease in demand for flights to the US, which has become a problem for Air Canada - the flagship Canadian airline. As a result, some flights to America have been canceled.
