FBI Against Trump: Bureau Agents File Lawsuit - FT.

FBI agents have filed a lawsuit against the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump to prevent the public identification of Bureau employees involved in the investigation of the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021. The agents claim that such identification puts them and their families at risk and that the Department of Justice is conducting a political purge within the FBI. The lawsuits were filed in Washington court just hours before the deadline set by Acting Deputy Attorney General Emile Powe to provide the FBI with a list of employees involved in the investigation.
Both groups of agents claim that in recent days the FBI has offered them to fill out a questionnaire to determine their role in the investigation. The plaintiffs believe that such a survey is being implemented to identify agents who could be fired or persecuted. Attorneys for the plaintiffs argue that the entire list could be published by allies of President Trump, which would put the agents and their families in imminent danger.
'Clearly, the threat of disclosure of information is the first step towards an illegal purge within the FBI, motivated solely by the political motives of the Trump administration,' said attorney Chris Mattei.
These two lawsuits are a serious attempt to prevent Trump's plans for revenge against the 'deep state' and government officials who have wronged him. During the campaign, Trump promised to 'seek, catch, and prosecute' those involved in misconduct. The scale of the revenge campaign has shocked U.S. officials, who did not expect such decisions.
