Man avoids mobilization — how the court punished him.

A case concerning evasion of military mobilization was heard in the Poltava region. The court delivered a verdict.
According to court documents, a local resident signed papers affirming his readiness to serve in the army. However, when the Time for mobilization came, the man did not show up for deployment without a justified excuse.
Court ruling
During the hearing, the defendant admitted his guilt but did not apologize. The man, who previously had no issues with the law or health, was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. He may appeal this decision within the next 30 days. Until then, he will be under house arrest.
This story illustrates that Ukrainian courts take cases of evasion of military mobilization seriously, applying appropriate judicial sanctions.
