Cabbage prices have reached all records: how much Ukrainians will have to pay for potatoes and carrots.

Vegetable prices in Ukraine continue to rise
Vegetable prices in Ukraine continue to amaze buyers. For example, young cabbage now costs 171 hryvnias.
As reported by 'Khvylia', this is evidenced by data from the Minfin portal.
Prices for basic vegetables, commonly used by Ukrainians to prepare traditional dishes or consumed raw, show a noticeable increase. It seems that it is already difficult to surprise Ukrainians, but this still happens. Young vegetables in spring have always been more expensive, but customers have never had to pay 171 hryvnias for cabbage.
Potatoes
In particular, the average price for regular potatoes in March was 32.67 UAH per kilogram, which is 1.31 UAH or 4% lower than the February figures (31.98 UAH). Meanwhile, in Metro and Auchan, the price settled at 27.90 UAH, while in Megamarket it was significantly higher - 42.20 UAH.
Interestingly, young potatoes have, on the contrary, decreased in price to 35.90 UAH from February's 44.90 UAH, dropping by a substantial 20%. The price for pink potatoes rose to 37.64 UAH compared to 36.06 UAH in February (+4.4%).
Cabbage
Young cabbage shows an impressive price increase - to 171.60 UAH per kilogram, which is almost twice the February figure of 86.64 UAH (+98%). It is worth noting that last year during the same period it was sold for 72.83 UAH/kg.
At the same Time, white cabbage has slightly decreased in price - to 50.42 UAH per kilogram compared to 50.82 UAH in February (-0.8%). Prices vary from 44.80 UAH in Metro and Auchan to 63.10 UAH in Megamarket.
Carrots
Regular carrots have become 23% more expensive - from 36.77 UAH in February to the current 45.25 UAH per kilogram. At the same time, prices differ significantly among different chains: 34.80 UAH in Metro and 55.70 UAH in Megamarket.
Interestingly, young carrots have disappeared from the price lists for March, although in February their average price was 54.76 UAH per kilogram.
It is worth recalling that prices for buckwheat, sunflower oil, and eggs have skyrocketed in Ukraine.
