Blinken gave a worrying forecast about the war in Ukraine.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in his latest interview, expressed his opinion on the potential end of the war in Ukraine. According to him, while a quick final decision cannot be expected, there is a possibility of achieving a ceasefire under certain conditions.
'This must happen from a position of strength, but there is also something critically important', the American official emphasized, highlighting the need to create a strong mechanism to deter Russian aggression.
Blinken particularly stressed the importance of the long-term nature of any ceasefire: 'This means there must be a reliable deterrent factor, as Putin will use any ceasefire to rest, rearm, and then attack again.'
Speaking about the future of the occupied territories, the U.S. Secretary of State expressed the opinion that their final status will remain uncertain for a long Time. At the same time, he expressed trust in the political leadership of Ukraine, stating that President Volodymyr Zelensky will act in accordance with the interests and beliefs of the Ukrainian people.
In an interview marking the end of Blinken’s term as the head of American diplomacy, he clearly outlined the U.S. position regarding a potential peaceful resolution: any agreements must be based on strong security guarantees and effective mechanisms to prevent further aggression from Russia.
