Expert does not support investments in solar panels on residential buildings
The head of the Union of Utility Consumers, Oleg Popenko, criticizes large investments in the installation of solar panels on residential buildings. According to him, such costs are uneconomical.
"Spending 3-4 million hryvnias on installing solar panels in one building without knowing what real result it will bring - this is an absolutely wrong strategy," said Popenko.
The expert emphasizes the need to change priorities. He believes that the right decision would be to create generators in buildings above nine floors, especially to ensure the operation of elevators, because solar energy cannot provide this.
"In addition to generators, which are very necessary in high-rises, it is necessary to equip buildings above five floors with charging stations and pumping groups," added Popenko.
According to him, such work should be carried out massively with the help of managers, heads of utility companies, and homeowners' associations.
Previously, Popenko revealed an inconvenient truth about water tariffs in Ukraine.
